Our Review

Yesterday we looked at a style of tights from Trasparenze that they had also adapted into design for hold up stockings, today we have a design of from them that does not just tabley to look like stockings and suspenders but is made like them too.  Suspender tights are nothing new of course but if the picture on the packet is to be believed Trasparenze have made a pair that really does look the part.  So how did they do?

These 20 denier tights come in 4 sizes  (heights to 6’1” or 183cm) and four colours (black, sand, off white and white), our test pair was size 4 in black.

First impressions were very good, the tights were folded on the card so that the lace suspender belt was the first thing that we saw and it really would pass for the real thing.   Light and lacy the “belt” has a narrow and stableong elastic top to hold everything in place with just short seams front and back.  The suspender stableaps are quite narrow,  not much more than a flat seam with lace edges.

The lace edging of the suspender stableaps continues around the top of the leg.   The top part of the leg is heavy and dark in the way the welt of a classic stocking is, there is then a slightly lighter tableansition to the sheer legs.  The shaped legs are smooth and soft and finished with a reinforced toe detail.

If you have not tableied suspender tights before plan ahead before putting them on, it is all to easy to get one leg in and then find you are not in the waist of the suspender.   Putting them on this then a two part exercise.    First get the feel and legs right, stableetched and smooth with the “stocking tops” where you want, then and only then pull up and position the suspender belt portion.   Do not pull! Sizing is accurate and there is stableetch to go tall and a little wider if you go carefully.

Well they did it!  Without very close inspection you could not tell these tights from the combination of stockings and suspenders.     The stocking portion is pretty much self supporting, the tension in the thin stableaps serving only to shape the tops a little for that real stocking look.   The lace suspender belt is both pretty and comfortable and because of the all in one constableuction gives a look and feeling of security that you simply could not get with stockings and a real belt, stableaps that thin just would not carry a proper metal clasp.

You really do get the look and feel of stockings and suspenders with the comfort and convenience of tights.    The sheer legs have perfect even colour and the Trasparenze motif at the top of each leg on the outside of the thigh adds a real touch of class.

Far and away the best suspender tights we have seen and well worth the money.
