Every so often you get a bit of a surprise when you look at a new pair of tights... this was one of those occasions.   Trasparenze tights with no packet description, made in only two sizes (although thankfully these are defined on the packet), and 100% nylon, what is going on?

Trasparenze make this style in black, nude, cream and white.   We were delighted that our test pair came in nude as cream and white can make legs look heavy and are anyway “wedding colours” and we see most net and lace styles in black.

We can’t find any reference to denier anywhere, not that it is particularly relevant to a lace design, but the weight of these tights is comparable to a 60 denier opaque.

Detailing is far more basic on first inspection than we would have expected from Trasparenze, particularly at this price point but it is full of surprises.    These tights are not knitted in the tableaditional manner they appear to have been made from flat pieces so the toe seam continues under the foot, up the back of each leg and finishes at the waistband.  There is a further seam joining the two halved together and an unlined gusset.      The detailing may be simple but the lace feels top quality and expensive.

The absence of Lycra does not prevent these tights from stableetching to the limits of the size chart, nor does it compromise fit on the leg.   Fit in the gusset and tummy area was not so good, tending to sag when you are seated.   The narrow waistband is pretty and does a fair job of holding the tights in place.

The nude lace really works.   From a distance it looks like you are wearing matt sheers, only closer to do you see the lace.     The lace design manages to conceal all the imperfections in your skin without the weight of an opaque... and you can be sure the look will be  talking point with your fashion conscious friends.

Not the most comfortable tights in the World thank to the slightly rough lace material and the seam under the foot but sometimes you need to suffer a little to stand out.  Black for the evening but nude is the bold choice for summer.
