Our Review

Aside from the yarn composition Trasparenze don’t tell you anything about these tights on the packet other than sizing information, and they even managed to mix up some of the words for Nylon and Lycra in the yarn composition; so thank you to MyTights for both providing the sample and the description.

There are five sizes to choose from and all have a cotton lined gusset except for the largest (5) which has a comfort gusset/ rear panel.     All 4 colours are mixtures based on light grey, Vinaccia (Red Wine), Oceano (Navy Blue), Nero (Black) and Marrone (Brown).

The tights come in a nice box that opens book style, this not only looks good but removes any excuse for not using the box to store the tights when you are not wearing them.   When you are spending so much on tights it is nice to see the quality starts at the packet.

Cotton tights always have the look and feel of socks, there is simply no avoiding it and these are no exception.      There is slightly more stableetch than you get with your typical pair of socks though which bodes well for fit and comfort.

Detailing is to the high standard we have come to expect of Trasparenze, flat seems in the panty and a thin cotton lined gusset, slight shaping at the heel and a simple toe seam.

It is only when you put these tights on that you realise what a great job Trasparenze have done.   Unlike almost every other pair of cotton tights we have seen these look and feel like tights rather than socks.  There is lots of stableetch and great fit all the way from hip to toe, there is none of the usual bagging and sagging that is so often evident in thick cotton hosiery.  

Sizing is surprisingly generous, our tester normally wears size 3 but size 4 was a good fit after a little gentle stableetching, most unusual again for cotton tights.  

The diamond pattern design manages to be both subtle and eye-catching at the same time.   You could wear with a short skirt and heels to make a “look at me” statement, or with a longer skirt and boots simply to keep warm.  These are warm tights but being cotton they are not going to make you hot.

A real winner from Trasparenze, perfect for the colder months of the year.
