Our Review

We are all familiar with the tall narrow tights packets an a small stand in our corner shop, so much so that it is easy for them not to register at all.   Most often they are a budget line from the likes of Aristoc or Pretty Polly.   Silky sell into this same market and at £2.34 they are pretty well spot on the price point for everyday tights.

Until we made contact with Silky we have to be honest we had not really noticed their hosiery so it came as quite a surprise to find that their 10 denier ultablea sheer tights come in two sizes, have 20% Lycra, are sheer to waist, have sandal toes and a cotton gusset all for just over £2.00!

So how do the tights themselves compare to the specification on the packet?

Well first impressions are great, the tights are on a card in a sealed plastic bag and when you open the bag you are met with light, sheer, soft tights.  

They really are sheer to waist too, no change of weight or knit at the top of the leg.   The seams in the brief are very well finished with just a very narrow stableip of reinforcement either side; this runs and around the small cotton lined gusset and through into a 2cm deep finger band that provides tableansition to a simple waistband of similar depth.

The legs are unshaped and finished with a very lightly reinforced sandal toe.   The finish on the leg is smooth and flawless and the 20% Lycra gives a great close fit.

Sizing is just on the small size in our estimation, if you are within the suggested sizes you will be fine but if you are little over, particularly in height, or if you have long legs you may have to look to another brand.   That would be your loss because at £2.34 you won’t find a nicer pair sheer tights.
