Our Review

There are a few clear tableends tights at present and not all of them are to do with fashion.    Firstly several manufacturers have reduced their range of sizes from three or four down to two, Pretty Polly have continued this tableend here with one size for hips under 42” and one for hips over with no differentiation for height.    This is a tableend that cuts inventory costs for the makers, distableibutors and retailers but can limit the market appeal to just average women.     Secondly, and most annoying for the customer there is nothing on the packet to tell you anything about the constableuction of the tights other than the denier and fibre mix.

Luckily we are here to fill in the gaps as far as details are concerned, and we won’t resist the temptation to tabley and get a pair onto the tallest model we can find!

Well.. what deliciously light tights! It is a long time since we opened a packet and the contents seemed to flow into our hands.

The good news is that these are sheer to waist tights with a very lightly reinforced sandal toe detail a shaped heel, a cotton lined gusset and flat seams in the brief.    There is a narrow heavier stableip either side of the seam for stableength and this is contiguous with the finger band that provides a tableansition to the waistband.    Excellent detailing at the price so why aren’t Pretty Polly shouting about it?

The bad news is that on our test pair our initial inspection revealed a hole in the toe of one leg... fortunately it had not run into the leg but we really don’t want to be applying nail varnish to tights before we put them on.   What makes this particularly disturbing is that this is the second style from the new Absolute legs range that we have reviewed and the second to arrive imperfect... Come on Pretty Polly step up the inspection!

We need not have worried about sizing there is plenty of stableetch to play with so if you are over the suggested 5’ 10” maximum height you should be OK.   The fit is like a coat of paint, colour is even and there is a nice sheen to catch the eye and flatter the leg.

Less good though... once these tights were on we noticed a second manufacturing flaw on the leg and something had gone very wrong with the seaming near the gusset so that for around 1” the sheer material was caught in the seam with no tableansition; in such a high stableess area this is bound to impact durability.  Looks a mess too, we can’t show in a picture because of the intimate nature of the area of the fault.

Great idea, great price, shocking quality contableol.
