Trasparenze Roxane Tights

Our Review

For the Autumn 2008 season Trasparenze have adopted a look for their models straight out of the 18th Century France, we can only imagine what the revolutionaries would have made of a lady dressed like the one in the picture above. Of course tights, let alone animal skin patterned tights, were quite unknown 200 years ago.

So how will these tights go down in the 21st Century?  Well on opening the box you realise that they are not animal print at all, it is in fact a floral design (mostly roses) on a background of random spotting.  The pattern runs all the way from the toes to the very scallop topped waistband, with a Trasparenze motif on each hip.

Finished with flat seams and an unlined gusset the quality of construction is faultless. We would estimate the denier at around 80, these are not lightweight tights.  The high denier and the fact that the pattern is knitted in mean that even if you use all the stretch provided by the 15% Lycra the pattern stays dark and true, unlike printed on designs that look pale and washed out.  Sizing is accurate but you can stretch beyond if required, our model generally wears size 4 but found that size 3 would stretch to fit. Fit is excellent.

These are tights made to be seen... we would not suggest you go out with nothing over them, but the shortest shorts or most revealing of skirts is our recommendation. Perhaps not for the office, but perfect for a party, dinner, the theatre or even out shopping!
