The “mock stockings” look is one of the hot trends for Spring 2010 and this design from Trasparenze is one of several variations they have on that theme. 

As you would expect from a quality brand like Trasparenze you get 4 sizes to ensure a good fit, there is also a choice of 3 bases colours, white, nude and black; all of which carry the lace top design in black.  Our preference is for one of the two pale shades but as luck would have it our sample arrived in black.  You can see how these look in Stacey’s pictures.

Although 10 denier throughout the lower leg that carries the polka dot pattern is knitted in a very fine tulle (more ultra fine fishnet than classic sheer), only above the lace top is the look and feel that of a classic 10 denier sheer.

The design features all the quality detail you would expect on tights at over £10 a pair, that is a sandal toe detail, some shaping at the heel, cotton lined gusset and flat seams.

Sizing is accurate and the high percentage of Lycra provides a very good fit.  These are strong and stretchy tights but don’t be tempted to try to stretch them beyond the recommended sizing as they are only 10 denier.  The panty section is styled quite slim.

The lace top hold up design coupled with the lace detailing below the waistband makes for a very attractive look. As we have said before the lighter colour are our preference as they are more convincing and far better suited to the warmer season.

Not quite as good as the Renella Tights but certainly a must have for your spring hosiery collection.
