Tights for Transvestites
We are sometimes asked why we have pages that deal with tights for men and tights for transvestites. The answer I think is a straight forward one, particularly if you are a transvestite. It really is a matter of state of mind, many men who wear tights or pantyhose would not consider themselves to be cross-dressing. Men wear for a variety of reasons from the health benefits of hosiery and keeping warm working outside on the one side to sexual fetish on the other.
For a transvestite or cross-dresser it all about looking and feeling feminine. A key part of getting the look right for most transvestites is to get the hosiery and footwear right. Whereas footwear is well catered for by a number of companies making shoes and boots in the right sizes and fit for this part of the market hosiery can be more of a lottery. The hosiery companies know that they have a variety of customers but focus marketing just on the one sector, women. The on-line shops we deal with thankfully do take a wider view and know that not all their customers are typical women.
No matter what you do in terms of exercise and diet there are fundamental differences between the male and female body shape, although all tights and pantyhose are sized largely by volume some brands are better suited in shape for the transvestite wearer, particularly for the taller girls.
All our tights have been tested on a variety of people in the hope that we can help buyers avoid the disappointment of tights that either don’t fit or don’t have the right look.
Although we would like to respond personally to all the e-mails we get asking for advice there just aren’t enough hours in the day. So here are a few pointers.
- Avoid cheap tights. Cheaper tights are often made smaller and with inferior yarns, trying to stretch them to fit a bigger foot or leg will frequently lead to ladder. And even if they don’t cheap tights can ruin your look.
- If you are tall look towards the quality brands from Italy and Germany. The German brands frequently do a size to fit a wider waist and hip too.
- Always look at the size chart. They are generally accurate and in the more expensive brands there is often more stretch in the larger sizes than the size chart may indicate... possibly as a result of women being in denial about their actual size .
- Wear dark tights if you have heavy legs, lighter shades if your legs are skinny.
- If you have skin blemishes or hair wear a pair of sheer tights under the ones you want to show off.
- If you have rough hands buy some hosiery gloves to wear while putting on your tights. This will save a lot of pain with ruined tights.
- Read our reviews and contact us or our suppliers before ordering if in doubt.
Get the hosiery right and you could have legs that any girl would die for.
