Our Review
Sheer tights with tattoo style motifs are very much in vogue at present, and we have to say how much better they look than a real tattoo under tights!
We will look at these tights as a basic sheer and consider the merits of the “tattoo” separately.
Construction is quite straightforward, the legs are unshaped and finished with an entirely sheer sandal toe detail. Sheer to waist the panty has all the features we would hope to see in quality sheer tights; well finished flat seams and cotton lined gusset. Mona have taken the opportunity presented by using black thread for the design by including the same in the reinforced band either side of the panty seam, Turning strengthening into design is a nice touch.
For 20 denier tights these feel quite light, they are soft to the touch too.
There are 4 sizes to choose from based on height and hips. The L size we tested is supposed to fit up to a height of 176 cm (5’9”) and hips of 120 cm (46”). There is an XL size to fit up to 182cm tall and hips of 136cm. Sizing is perhaps a more generous that the size chart suggests but for an optimal fit take the chart as correct. Be aware that if you are toward the middle to upper range of hip size the waistband may sit on your hips rather than on your waist. We love thewide range of sizes available and that XL adds height not just width.
There are very nice sheer tights that both look and feel more like 15 denier than 20.
The ankle motif is quite well defined, nicely styled and adds a little something extra to tights that would be worth the asking price as simple sheer tights.
If you like a completely matt “make-up” finish on your tights you should be aware that the the Lycra in the fibres gives noticeable shine in the right light. We love that look, but these are billed as matt so we thought we should tell you.
If you want a change from sheers you can try these without compromising on quality or paying silly money.. highly recommended
