It is hard to define what is in fashion this season as there are just so many variations from the myriad of manufacturers. Just one of the trends is tulle tights with patterns, and this style from Mona is on the edge of that trend; not quite a tulle but a fine fishnet with a vine pattern down the outside of each leg.
Fishnet tights can be made several ways and this style uses our favourite. Knitted seamless the crotch is closed with a lined gusset. This gives the best fit and avoids heavy and unsightly seams in the body that can also be a source of weakness. There is a small plain toe detail too to improve durability and comfort.
Sizing is based on height and hip size, covering a range of heights from 158-176 cm and hip sizes from 108-120 cm over 3 sizes. Maxima of 5’9” height and 47” hips suggests tights made for shorter and heavier ladies so how does this translate to slimmer figures?
Well the combination of fishnet and 20% Lycra provides a huge amount of stretch, the heights suggested on the size chart are in no way generous enough, you could be well over 6’ (183 cm) and still get a perfect fit. The hip measurement by contrast is pretty accurate and we would not suggest exceeding the maximum measurements.
As basic fishnets these are great, slightly finer than classic fishnets but not quite a micronet. Perfect fit, comfortable and giving a very even colour to your legs. The vine design adds a whole new dimension. Take a little care to get it properly aligned up outside of each leg and it really catches the eye and has a real slimming effect.
Lots of style and class for a very reasonable price.
