Mary Portas Spotty Net Tights by Charnos

Our Review

Regular readers will know that we have something of love hate relationship with net tights so seeing a new style always fills us with a mixture of dread and anticipation.

First impressions here are very good indeed. Soft in the hand and made with a cotton lined gusset and a plain toe they promise a high degree of comfort.  The knit is the most modern of net knits that avoids the impression of actual string net and has more the look and feel of an opaque with holes cut through.

The look on the leg is more that of a lacy tight than a fishnet, the circular holes are visible from quite a distance, in contrast to sheer look fishnets give from more than a few steps away.  A more modern and sophisticated look.

maryportas_sm_ml As is the custom these days there are only two choices of size.  We are not sure whether Mary or Charnos came up with the sizing but we are pleased to see that the chart (left) takes into account variations in body shape and give guidance on combinations of hip measurement and height.

The sizing is perhaps more generous than the size chart suggests with the larger size comfortably coping with maximum height and weigh together.

Fit is very good, and unlike some net tights the waistband sat properly on our model’s waist. An effective narrow elastic waistband.

Comfortable, stylish and well made this is a style every woman should consider wearing whether or not you are in the declared target market of women over 40.
