Erotic and 100 denier are not two things that you would normally think to put in the same sentence... well maybe you would, who knows? but we wouldn’t.  So curiosity stirred we grabbed these tights for review.

One small point before we start.  We have criticised a number of major UK brands for reducing their range of sizes as well as praising Polish/Italian brands for maintaining a full range of 3, 4 or even 5 sizes... So we must in fairness mention that Marilyn seem to have done the same, the size chart defines 4 sizes but our test pair came in size 3/4.

First impressions with these soft 100 denier microfibre tights depend very much on which end you start.  Starting at the toe end they are very ordinary with a non-reinforced toe detail and completely straight unshaped legs.  Further up everything changes, firstly these are entirely sheer to waist tights, and the panty includes both flat seams and a cotton lined gusset. So raised from ordinary to above average, but not yet exciting or erotic.

Wow!  Not often do we see a feature for the first time; after reviewing we over 1000 styles of tights we thought we had seen everything! So why the excitement?

Well deep lace waistbands always look great on a studio model but tend to be a let down in real day-to-day wear because they lack strength and tend to roll over.  Marilyn have sought to address this problem by borrowing from hold up stockings; near the top of the waistband is a silicone band to hold the tights in place... brilliant!

Returning to sizing it really is quite generous, so much so that if you are towards the bottom end of size 3 then the 3/4 size may be too big.  Fit is good and the colour density is perfectly even , there is a definite look of quality on the leg.

The deep lace waistband means that the main part of the tights is styled like a hipster with only the lace reaching the waist unless the tights are big on you.  The lace waistband works much better than any other we have seen but is let down by the silicone being visible through the lace if you wear a darker colour.

As for the effectiveness of silicone band if you have a well defined waist and smooth skin (no oils or powders) it really does work and the tights stay in place perfectly. Now we have to be indelicate: if you have a tummy or loose flesh above your waistband the silicone will not stop the whole of the lace top rolling.

Erotic 100 denier tights? No, but good quality and a step ahead of the crowd and great value.  The innovate lace/silicone waistband needs a bit more development and I expect you will see other quality brands taking the idea on.
