Vita Bassa is an Italian expression meaning low-rise, so when you see this term you are looking at hipster styled tights. Erotic is the term Marilyn use to describe tights with a lace waistband. This is the 30 denier version, there is also a Marilyn Erotic Vita Bassa 100 Denier if you like your tights heavier.

We rather like our tights more on the sheer side, so 30 denier works for us.  We also like the range of 4 sizes and the cotton lined gusset in sizes small to large.

As far as the legs are concerned these are much like any quality 30 denier tights with a reinforced toe detail and a shaped heel.   In the panty there is a cotton lined gusset and well finished flat seams.  You could almost call these sheer to waist tights except that they are designed to stop below the waist and the top 3” (7.5cm) is lace, so far from sheer, but other than the toes there is no reinforcement.

The waistband or hip band as we perhaps should call it is pretty unique.  At the top of the lace waistband there is a band of silicone as you would find on hold up stockings. 

Sizing is spot on with a little extra stretch if you need it, fit and finish are excellent.  Only slightly heavier than sheer these are flattering tights with just a slight sheen on what is really a matt finish.   Colour is pretty even but we did have one tiny knitting fault on our test pair.. but at £5.99 we can forgive this one imperfection as the tights deliver so well in every other way.

The hipster styled waistband works a treat, even better than on the 100 denier version.  Thanks to the lace and silicone not only do you have tights that look right hipster styled but you have tights that feel right and you don’t feel like your tights are falling down.

Cut so low you should never see the waistband over the waistband of your shorts or skirt, but if you do it has the look of lingerie not the top of a pair of tights.

Great tights and great value for money.
