Our Review
These tights are supplied in an open style packet that carries no information other a size chart, three sizes medium to extra tall, and a sticker with the fibre composition. Of course the style name tells you quite a lot too, 100 denier, wool and ribbed.
If you were handed these tights without the packet you would know at once they were wool, there is a softness and warmth that synthetic fibres struggle to replicate, and the only synthetic that comes close is microfibre which is the other major component here.
There is no shaping in the legs in fact the design is very simple. There is a plain knit toe, straight ribbed leg with the ribs running all the way to the waistband. The panty is finished with very well made flat seams and there is a gusset that is unlined and ribbed like the rest of the garment.
Levante have excelled themselves, both fit and sizing are spot on but more importantly these tights actually feel like tights to wear. Wool tights we have tried in the past have felt like socks on the feet and ankles, baggy on the legs and saggy in the panty.
The look on the leg is classy too, if you were thinking school tights when you saw “ribbed” then think again these are tights for grown ups.
Of course being wool and microfibre these are warm tights too, but warm without being sweaty.
Perfect for the cold weather, we could have done with finding a few pairs before Christmas, still they won’t wear out very quickly so come the spring we can put them away for next winter.
Highly recommended
