Our Review
The packet tells you nothing about the tights, just the marketing blurb for the collection, so what can we tell you? Well these tights are made in 4 sizes from small to extra tall covering the full range of heights and weights from from a tiny 4’11” to a lofty 6’ 1” and a slender 88lb (40kg) to a more substantial 198lb (90kg). Our friends at UKTights offer an extensive range of colours: Ivory!
The tights are more simply constructed than we expected, with entirely straight legs that are finished with a reinforced sheer toe at one end and a simple finger band/waistband detail at the other. The body has flat seams and a cotton lined gusset.
The pattern is an ivory on ivory, a sheer (15-20 denier estimated) background with the stem and leaf pattern running vertically in a tighter so more opaque knit. The clematis naming has little basis in horticulture, the stems are thick, the leaves are tiny and the best feature of a clematis (flowers) is missing.
As an abstract lace pattern these tights do work and the ivory colour is ideal if you are wearing an ivory wedding dress... not a daily occurrence of course but we are thinking about a wedding day.
If you don’t happen to be getting married then these tights will still work for you if you are bold in what you wear with them. The vertical striping of the pattern is a good counter to the way pale hosiery can make your legs look short and heavier.
These are well made and durable tights that are accurately sized and fit well.
