Our Review
Lurex is something that comes to the fore from time to time, and it divides opinion... so much so that when Trasparenze used it recently they referred to it as metallic fibre rather than use the name.
Here Jonathan Aston have used Lurex to emphasise the ribbing on these tights to give a almost a pinstripe effect. The Lurex is used in the reinforced toes and all the way up the unshaped legs. The boxer style brief is plain and finished with a simple gusset.
Three sizes are made, the largest to fit up to 205lb/95kg and 6’3”/183cm; although not the maximum weight and height together. The 8% Lycra provides enough stretch to go slightly beyond the suggested sizing and it makes for a good fit too.
The use of Lurex is quite subtle and makes for a very smart and eye catching look, not for the office maybe but fine for any social situation. The colour of our test pair was “storm” which is a very nice shade of silver grey.
Very smart and comfortable tights, perfect for the season. Just two words of warning, don’t wear with extremely short skirts or very short shorts or the boxer brief may show and ruin the effect, if you have very wide legs the sideways stretch can spoil the look of the design.
Well done to Jonathan Aston for making Lurex acceptable!
