Our Review
We get so used to seeing fishnets in black that it is easy to forget that they are available in other colours so when our friends at MyTights sent us this style to review in red it was a bit of a shock.
Not quite so much as a shock as seeing how fantastic they they look with a fun and funky outfit.
Of course the whole point of the fishnet is to give a more intense colour than a sheer without the weight and warmth of an opaque. And by deliberately avoiding any attempt to have perfectly even colour the fishnet fools the eye into seeing exactly that.
Another surprise was that these tights came sized, Jonathan Aston mix their styles between “one size” and sizes A-C (small to large). Generally it is the fishnet that most makers do as one size as there is to much scope for stretch. Our test pair in size “B” should fit up to 5’10” if you are very slim or 5’8” if you are up to around 145 lbs (66kg). Nora is closer to 5’11” so it is clear that there is enough stretch to go beyond the suggested sizing, although there is also a suggested range of hip sizes and I am sure that Nora won’t mind us saying that she is slimmer than the suggested 38”-44” range suggested.
The construction is pretty much like any other fishnet, simple seams at the toes and in the crotch area and a sewn on 2 cm deep waistband. The waistband does a good job of holding the tights wherever you put them
So.. sizing is accurate, fit and look on the leg are good as you can see in the picture, and the price is right at £5.50.
Whether you want the funky bright colours or not these a great everyday fishnets that we are happy to recommend.
