Our Review
Although made for and sold in the US market this is European hosiery, made in Italy and acknowledging the trademarks of French fashion giant Givenchy.
We put a lot of weight on first impressions, and the first impression here is one of sparkly shimmer, the second impression is that for control top tights there is very little weight.
The size chart shows that there are 5 sizes, A-E, and as is the Italian way each size is designed for a taller lady that the last, the sight exception being size E that provides for just a little more height but a lot more fullness up hip and bottom. We tested size D which should fit up to 6’1” (185 cm) and 195 lbs (89 kg), although not at the same time.
All the sizes have the same construction; very light and sheer legs fully shaped and finished with a perfect sandal toe. The way the material of the legs glitters simply begs you to put them on. The panty is heavy and opaque, probably around 50 denier, but has a lovely smooth feel and a seductive softness; the quality is excellent with flat seams, a cotton lined gusset and shallow waistband (12mm/0.5”).
The legs look very long before you put them on, but as you start to bunch them up in preparation for slipping your foot in you notice there is very little stretch. The sizing though is spot on and the control top does a perfect job of holding the legs in place and preventing them slipping down. The control top is not overly restrictive, certainly more of a toning than a shaping garment giving a perfectly smooth silhouette. The way the top smoothes and the way is is finished, smooth and glossy like panties, mean no other underwear is required.
The look on the leg is highly flattering even the smallest amount of light turning into an eye catching shimmer. The feel on the leg is much like classic nylon stockings, the slight texture to the surface provides a very loud swish when you cross your legs.
Don’t ever let anyone tell you that control top pantyhose can’t be sexy.. these are! And at $9.50 a pair we think they are very good value too.
