Our Review
You can tell at once that these are high denier tights, they feel heavy and the packet almost bulges.
They feel surprisingly soft in the hand, and when you open them out you can see that the detailing is all that we have come to expect from Gerbe. There is the usual attractive and highly functional waistband with the Gerbe motif, perfectly made flat seams in the panty and around the silk lined gusset.
Construction is sheer to waist with just slight shaping of the leg at the heel; the legs are finished with invisibly reinforced toes.
We cannot comment on the sizing as our test pair was supplied as a sample direct from the factory, size unknown. What we do know is that it was smaller than size 4 as sizes 4 to 6 have a comfort band/rear panel rather that the conventional gusset. There is plenty of stretch despite the small amount of Lycra in the fibre as even this smaller size would stretch easily to cover a 34” leg. We would have liked to see a little more Lycra as unusually for Gerbe fit was not perfect, there was some tendency to crease at the knee when you bend your leg.
The finish is matt but less dull than many cheaper opaque tights. The colour is perfectly even.
