Our Review
Our first impression looking at these tights was of gentleman’s patterned socks, the reinforced toes, shaped contrast heel and plain sole did nothing to change this impression. Of course socks don’t have a panty, and the panty is where these tights start to show their quality; with flat seams and a comfort gusset all topped off by the usual Gerbe waistband. (For new visitors: we are a little obsessed with the simple yet smart, classy and incredibly effective waistband that Gerbe use , only Wolford and Falke come close).
Despite only having a small amount of Lycra there was plenty of stretch and the fit was excellent. Once stretched on the leg the pattern opened out in its full glory and all thoughts of socks were forgotten. The base colour is lead grey with hints of bronze or purple. Right on trend for the winter.
Not only are these tights highly fashionable they are delightfully warm too. Not cheap at almost €40 but they are made to last and should survive daily wear until the weather warms up again.
Although made for ladies fashion the styling, finish and colour mean that a gentleman could wear them under trousers on cold days. Nobody would ever guess they were tights not socks.
