Yesterday our sister site StockingsFashion reviewed some classic fully fashioned seamed stockings from Gio, beautiful as they are they are quite expensive, feel ever so delicate and require a top quality suspender belt to keep them up and in place. So how about spending less than half as much on a pair of seamed tights?
Those 100% nylon stockings came in no less than 9 sizes but they have no stretch at all, these seamed tights from Gatta have 13% Lycra in the fibre to provide stretch and improve fit and still come in a choice of 3 sizes.
Detailing is very good, a sandal toe and a reinforced sole are included in the foot and a seam runs from the top of the diamond heel all the way up the unshaped legs to the top of the thigh. The seam is light and fine. The panty is styled as a lace bikini brief and has both flat seams and a double thickness unlined gusset.
Getting the seam straight when putting these tights on is very straight forward, get the foot right and the leg sort themselves out. The feet are not overly long so if you have very big feet the heel may not site quite right. Sizing is accurate with enough stretch to cope if you are a little longer in the leg than is average for your height.
Fit is very good, close and comfortable; unlike the classic 100% nylon stockings these tights stay right where you put them.
As for giving the look of seamed stockings everything is great up to around the top of the thigh. The colour is perfectly even and the fine seam has great definition, really catches the eye and slims the leg... only a real aficionado of stockings would guess these were not the real thing, just the lack of creasing at ankle and knee giving the game away. Just below the gusset things go a little wrong; there is a clear dark band around the leg where the seam ends and the brief begins so any skirt shorter than mid thigh length is a no no. The lace bikini panty is a pretty design and looks nice but lacks the opacity to be worn without underwear.
If you are going to stay covered up above mid thigh then these tights are a great way to get that seamed stocking look in well made, comfortable and convenient tights. Other seamed tights do the job better, but few if any offer as much for the same money.
