Our Review

This is the first style from Italian maker Gaetano Cazzola that we have looked at so we have no idea what to expect.  They are clearly aiming for the fashion market and one suspects that the decision to produce just two sizes is to allow them to have a wider range of styles. The two sizes only cover a range of heights from 4’9” to 5’9” (145-175 cm) so if you are tall this may be an issue.

So what of the tights? The legs are made unshaped and the design is sheer from the very small and lightly reinforced toe to the start of the lace band some 5cm deep that provides transition to the legging pattern which is a fine tulle. The micro net tulle then runs uninterrupted to the 3cm deep waistband. The panty is finished with flat seams and a cotton lined gusset.

There is no front or back to these tights, they are made by joining two identical halves, if we were being picky we could point out that the seaming process has resulted in the narrow strip of finer and stronger knit either side of the seam being asymmetric.

We need not have worried about the sizing, the 19% Lycra gives masses of stretch and the tulle leggings part of the tights feels very strong. The Lycra also provides for a very close and tight fit. The only small concern if you are bigger than the recommended sizing is that the net design look less good stretched to the limit.

The foot section is as soft and sheer as any 20 denier tights, the tulle section is naturally more rough to the touch. The toe detail is sheer enough for wear with open toe shoes.

All in all a very effective fashion design well executed.
