During the latter part of 2007 it became very hard to find Pure Matt 20 Tights in the UK. The reason became apparent in April when we saw the style reappear in the new style packing above. Price and fibre mix remain the same but we are told that the look is more sheer.  A review of the redesigned style will appear here soon.

Here it is at last, our new review for Falke Pure Matt 20 Tights

No surprises on opening the packet, the quality is what we have come to expect of Falke.  The new Pure Matt 20 is beautifully soft and simply flows from the packet.

Sheer to waist with shaped legs and heel and a very lightly reinforced toe.  Flat seams and a cotton lined gusset in the brief for fit and comfort, all topped off with a 2cm waistband and 3cm finger band.

Fit is excellent, sizing is perhaps a little less generous than the old style, but this is still the brand for taller ladies.  The finish is both smoother and softer than the old style, and the feel is still more 12 than 20 denier. These tights feel so good you may find yourself crossing and uncrossing your legs more than is strictly necessary.

There is slightly more sheen to the finish than before.  If we were to compare with powder makeup we would say that the look now is more like one of the very upmarket cosmetic company’s powder rather than an everyday powder.  Our test pair was in a colour called powder and they gave our tester’s legs a healthy glow.

The toes are nearly invisible so you could wear with open toe shoes.

Great tights for any time of the year, but ideal in the lighter shades for the summer.  Well done to Falke for taking a good design and making it great.

If you can’t find these tights then the 2008 style Hudson Glamour 20 Tights are almost identical in terms of quality and finish and are a little cheaper.

Our Review

These tights are very easy to slip on and have a really soft finish.

Another winner from Falke. Feel more like 12 denier than 20 denier.

Interestingly one of our testers said that she preferred Falke Pure Matt to Falke Seidenglatt 15 because they are lighter and cooler.  In fact Pure Matt are actually made from a heavier fibre.
