Emilio Cavallini Net with Side Pattern Tights

Emilio Cavallini Net Side Pattern Tights - Detail

These are the type of fishnet that is knitted in one piece and then finished with a small seam in the crotch.  The toes are very well finished with the net giving way to a reinforced toe that should greatly improve both comfort and durability.

As is frequently the case with high fashion fishnets these are made in one size, the packet says “fits all” but that really means it covers both sizes they use when making sized tights so the limits are 4’9 to 5’9 for height and 94 lbs to 176 lbs for weight (150-180 cm 43-80 kg).

Nora is taller than 5’9” and they fit her perfectly.

Our Review

The packet picture is one used for the full range of fishnets from Emilio Cavallini, but Nora kindly modelled a pair for us so you can see what they really look like.

From front and back they look like regular fishnets but down the outside of each leg there is an intricate net pattern.  We do mean down the outside of each leg too, quite how Nora got the pattern to the inside of her left leg we don’t know, surely she is old enough to dress herself by now!

Glorious 12th

There is no front or back to these tights, they can go on either way and look the same.  The normal clue is the seam in the waistband goes to the back but here the seam is on one hip.  On the subject of the waistband it is a very close copy of that found on high end tights from the likes of Fogal and Gerbe, just lacking a branded motif that would add a real touch of class.

As can be the case with fishnets the fit is not great, putting enough stretch in to cover a wide range of sizes mean that even a tall girl could pull the waistband to her armpits.

Adding the lace pattern to the sides sets these tights apart from regular fishnets; and perhaps sets the scene for where and when you would wear them.  They cry out to be looked at so a shorter skirt or even shorts is the order of the day, high heeled shoes in the evening or boots in the day would both work well.

August 12 2009... The Glorious 12th, start of the English Grouse shooting season.  Nora and I are off to bag a few birds for dinner! I am sure you will agree that all eyes will be on her on the moors today.
