Our Review
The idea of making the seam of a pair of tights with a heart pattern is not new, we saw it some time ago on the Gerbe Cupidon tights, but Emilio Cavallini has brought the idea right up to date by varying the size of the hearts to increase the slimming effect.
One size fits all tights are more often found at the bottom end of the quality/price scale but these are priced in the middle range for fashion tights and are made at a quality appropriate to the price. The 30 denier legs are finished with a reinforced toe that features a run stop feature to prevent any holes there running up into the foot and leg. The legs are unshaped and carry the heart detail up the back seam (there is no actual seam just the design), with the first tiny heart at the heel and the last big one at the bottom of the boxer style brief. The brief is heavier than the legs at around 50-60 denier and is knitted in a very fine tulle, there are flat seams but sadly no gusset.
Emilio Cavallini don’t stipulate and limits on “one size fits all” but as they include this statement under a table where the specify the sizing of S/M and M/L it is apparent they mean “all” within the confines of those sizes, that is heights from 4’9” to 5’9” (150-180 cm) and weights from 94 lbs to 176 lbs (43 -80kg). By this measure the sizing is actually quite generous, in the leg at least where there is plenty of stretch. The brief is styled to sit quite low on the waist and is not overly generous in size.
Fit is good despite the lack of gusset, the finish on the leg has a satin sheen that sets off the heart detail very nicely.
Our recommendation would be the black hearts on natural background colour combination, although the black on black is perhaps more understated and classy. Whichever you choose they are more party tights than office wear, the tapering design really accentuates a slim ankle and will draw attention to your shoes so wear a smart heel.
